Dogtopia of South Coast is excited to partner with Jobi the Lab in his efforts to share profound principles and “magic collars” with the children of Orange County.
On December 8th, children from all over the OC will gather at Dogtopia (3203 South Harbor Blvd, Santa Ana) to meet Jobi through the reading of his book, Jobi and the Magic Collar.
Jobi and the Magic Collar is a story narrated by an eight-year-old girl named Grace. While vacationing in Hawaii, Grace discovers a collar with an ancient coin tagged on it and asks her parents if she can buy it for her dog Jobi, a Chocolate Labrador Retriever. Her parents relent and purchase the collar. Upon returning home, Grace places the magic collar around Jobi’s neck. Suddenly, Jobi talks. No one believes Grace. Finally, Jobi talks to the entire family and imparts words of wisdom.
The Saturday, January 12, 2019 event will begin at 10:00 am and is geared toward children 5-11 years of age. Refreshments will be served and a “magic collar” will be gifted to each child in attendance. Books will be on hand for purchasing and 15% of the book sales will be donated to the Dogtopia Foundation to benefit Service Dogs for Veterans.
The Dogtopia Foundation enables dogs to positively change our world. To accomplish this, the Foundation is currently funding programs focused around three worthy causes: Service Dogs for Veterans, Youth Literacy Programs and Employment Initiative for Adults with Autism. 100% of donations received by the Foundation is given directly to the organizations they support.
